Welcome 2011!!

Welcome to 2011!! We have a lot of New Years resolutions to start and keep going this year!

Number 1: Blog more often.....lol 8 months between entries is a little too long don't ya think?

Number 2: Finish Drowning Ophelia's sophomore album! We have sooo many great songs to get recorded!!! My talented sister Karli has spent the last 3 years or so writing a plethora of great songs and I've written a couple too, don't know if they're great but we'll find out!

Number 3: Get more gigs with our dance/party/wedding band Jukebox Divas :) we started this project last year and had some super fun gigs last year! We want to play more!! If you're having a party, wedding or any other event check us out at www.JukeboxDivas.com give me a call or email and book us please :)

Hum....maybe those are all the new years resolutions? haha I have some other ones but those three are the most important!

Some more exciting news that has occurred with Jukebox Divas is that we've partnered with the Celtic Hall and Spikes at the Edmonton Sportsdome! The have just brought in new management and we're going to turn it into THE live music venue!

I had a tour of the Celtic Hall and it is really cool and unique! High cathedral ceilings, suits of armor, medieval type chairs! If you're planning an event or wedding this is an amazing venue!

News for Drowning Ophelia, we've got a brand new website up! It's beautiful if I do say so myself lol..... take a look www.Drowningophelia.com

We're working on booking some more gigs so keep checking back and join our mailing list to be notified of upcoming shows and other Drowning Ophelia happenings!

That's all for now folks!

Hello Again....

Wow, it's been over a month since my last entry!! And I've only had TWO!!! I'm beginning to think I suck at this a little bit, eek! Sorry to those of you who have been waiting oh so patiently for me to resurface...I will try to do this more often!

First off, our March 12th show at Fresh Start Bistro went great! The place was packed, the food was nummy and the music spectacular!

We were so great they wanted us to come back! So we're playing there again next Friday, April 23rd. Same time 7:00 - 10:00 in the PM, the address is 484 Riverbend Square in the lovely city of Edmonton. This time however, we have some treats for you....First off we'll have Nick Lovejoy joining us on the Djembe/Tambourine/Shaker and other percussion type thingys :-) and secondly our KEYTAR will be making its first appearance! Woohoo for the Keytar/Gorgan/Belly-synth. We're super excited to be bringing it this time it's wicked awesome and a TON lighter than our regular Keyboard....believe you me, this is going to be a show you don't wanna miss!

The show is $7.00 and you can make reservations by calling Fresh Start @ (780) 433-9623.

At the end of March we played at a friend's PhD party (we'll call him "Dr. Drew")...We had a fantastic time! The group Transcends also played that night. They were playing as a trio that night with vocals, guitar, piano, and flute. Normally they play as a four-some but their guitar player was on tour with Carrie Hyrniw at the time. They performed a great set of some classic music :-) Check out their website at http://www.transcendsborders.com/

Most recently we played at the Great Canadian Trade Show in Sherwood Park and were lucky to have my niece handy to video tape the performance for us! Here is one of our new songs "Might As Well" that we performed :-) I quite like it (Karli wrote it...)

We're also apart of a cover band called Jukebox Divas (http://www.jukeboxdivas.com/) and performed there as well here are vidoes of us performing "Love Shack" and "I Gotta Feeling" ...

Phew! Alrighty I think that's all for now! Toodles and thank you for reading!
